Hive Division at Circuito Off

Friday, September 4th, 2009

Yesterday workshop has been our first official conference about the movie. Thanks to all those who came and attended, to all the support and interest that you showed us! It was really fun to share our experiences, difficulties, solutions and so on with people interested in our workflow and, in general, in our no-budget and lot-of-fun adventure!

MoCap and Work in Progress!

Thursday, July 2nd, 2009

Hive Division is working on the last scene yet to be post-produced of the Metal Gear Solid: Philanthropy project.

Here you can take a look at some photos taken during our last motion capture session!

Motion Capture

“What are they going to do to me?!”

Motion Capture

“What should I go through to become my worst enemy…”

Motion Capture

“Hey, I swear: those dots… That’s me!”

The software we use, Spectrum Capture, has been totally conceived and realized by Alberto, our 3D Lead Artist.

I’m sure you can imagine which is the scene we’re working on right now, can’t you?

Once completed this sequence, the video post-production will be finished and it will be the turn of our friends from Hybrid Two that will take care of the audio editing and final audio mixing.

On July, 11th the release date of the Metal Gear Solid: Philanthropy movie will be finally announced!

Trip to Rome

Sunday, June 7th, 2009

Ok, while the Metal Gear Solid: Philanthropy team is completing the movie post-production (please, be patient, soon or later we’ll share a release date, I promise) we author and director of Hive Division are starting to work on our next (ORIGINAL) project(s).

So, a trip to Rome was necessary, to meet new people and find a way to work on what will be next. Of course, nothing is carved in stone yet, but we’re on our way…

For sure I cannot spoil what will be the next project of the Hive Division team but we would like to gather your opinion! What do you think about it? Any idea, hypothesis or wish?

Here’s a photo of Giacomo and Enrico roaming by and discussing about the future!

Please leave us some comments and let us know what do you expect next!

Aoife Ferry sings for Philanthropy

Tuesday, May 26th, 2009

Aoife, singer of The Best Is Yet To Come (ending track of the original Metal Gear Solid videogame), has completed the recording of the ending track for the movie.
At the beginning of our “journey” we really could not expect that a top artist like Aoife would have joined our project, least of all the very same singer that millions of MGS fans remember with great emotion.

We consider this gift that Aoife made us a real privilege and we really want to thank her for her kindness and great artistic contribute.

The Metal Gear Solid: Philanthropy post-production is in its final phase and the movie is meant to be completed by the end of June, 2009.
Stay in touch for further information about the first screening and the on-line web release!

If you’re in Italy, you can buy the magazine, while if you’re abroad you can keep an eye on the digitalized version of the magazine since they’ve already added the article!

Have a nice read (sorry, Italian only)!

What’s going on in the Hive Division headquarter? Now that the shooting is over, all the guys are working hard on the Metal Gear Solid: Philanthropy post-production: they have just finished the opening credits and the first 30 minutes of the movie are eventually ready.

Of course, you won’t be able to see anything until the official release date but… If you want to take a quick look at our staff, here they are!

First, our VFX Supervisor, Alessandro with tons of material about MGS (Arts & Co., you know we have to study things out not to let you down ^_^)…
