Metal Gear Solid: Philanthropy – Release

“Metal Gear Solid: Philanthropy” is available in streaming and for download, starting from today.
In a few days other distribution channels will be shared, so that everybody will be able to download the file from different channels.

Philanthropy has been a challenge nearly impossible to complete, started three years ago. We didn’t imagine, then, all the troubles we would have been into and all the obduracy that we would need to complete the project.
By the way, we didn’t know, how much support we were going to find, how many friends we were going to meet, how many passionate and generous people were going to help us.

The release of “Metal Gear Solid: Philanthropy” make an end of the first life history of Hive Division. The team, nearly a family now, is going to take some time to decide what’s happening next.
We do not really know when we’re going to produce the two sequels of Philanthropy (whose script was written together with “The Overnight Nation” in 2006). This will depend on many factors: the reaction of our public, the future of professional Hive Division, who is looking for financial partners to realize our next projects and partners to become a real Production Studio, and, for sure, Konami’s reaction to the project.
We feel and hope that one day Snake, Elizabeth, and Pierre will complete their journey.

We are deeply grateful to all those who have been following the project, even during its “mysterious” phases when we were working so hard that we couldn’t update you as we would have liked to.
We happily put this movie in the hands of the Internet, the “primeval soup” in which our project was born and raised, to which we owe so much and which we hope to have provided with something meaningful.

Due to technical issues, the Metal Gear Solid: Philanthropy web site is not accessible, but you can download the movie from the following links.

We’re sorry for the inconvenience, we’ll soon be on-line again!

Enjoy the movie!

You guys are simply great. Best fan-made stuff ever! Looking forward to get my hands on with part 2 and 3! But I think it will take some time again. I hope you get help and also a great reaction from Kojima, I think he HAS to.

  4. Jim says:

Wow, a big congratulations guys!! This movie definately far surpassed what I was expecting for a fan-made no-budget film. You should all be really proud of yourselves. Especially the CGI which was absolutely amazing (the title sequence was stunning).

I think it’s only fair I give some criticism though. The film definately seemed to get a lot better as it went on (this could perhaps be due to your team getting more experienced at doing it).
My main gripe would be that the dialogue was quite weak in some places, I can’t wait for the follow up movie but I would perhaps suggesting going back and tightening up the dialogue in those scripts.

    OVerall though, Great job !

    Great fan movie indeed.
Some parts of it are splendid, like the part where the sniper hits the guy in the corridor and listens to him shout, feeling so sad.
Without any music, this scene is great.

It’s something I’ve never seen in any movie till now, or at least not that intense.

    Well done.

I would like to thank you for the amazing movie you have created. MGS: Philanthropy is easily the best video game movie I’ve seen, fan made or not. It’s also one of the best movies I’ve seen all year, hands down. If Hollywood ever does get around to making a Metal Gear movie, I doubt it will be as good as this! You should be incredibly proud of yourselves; you’ve created a masterpiece. When (if) parts 2 and 3 come out, please make sure you make them like this one! Congratulations Hive Division, you guys rock! I look forward to your future projects!

OMG!! I was waiting this movie for so long, and now I can say.. AMAZING!! I’m agree with all the other comments, it’s the best fan made movie I’ve ever seen. It captures the essence of Metal Gear in every aspect, even in jokes!! That’s why the fans are gonna feel so connected with the movie, and more importantly, this alternate story is very promising.

Congratulations to all the people that is working in the project, and even if I have to wait more time for the 2 and 3, is worth of waiting.

P.D: I’m from Argentina, and my English is very basic, for not say “nonexistent”, so I’m apologize from advance if I wrote something wrong.

  8. DoSan says:

What a splendid movie this is! You guys and girls too!
I couldn’t expect such a great film come out. I’ve not known the fan-made movie that is loved from Japanese fans as it’s relevant to MGS until watching MGS Phirantholopy.
    Thank you for fantastic work!

One of your fans, from Japan.

(If You couldn’t understand me, That’s because It was short of my time to study English…Sry.)

    In one word: Stunning!,

This is the best game movie I have ever seen low budget or not, this is great, you definitely should get rewarded for this, and now Hideo it’s going to think twice before producing a Hollywood-film based on metal gear, cause you guys have set a record, your name will be remembered!

Thanks for this great work, keep it up!
